Thoughts on Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow?[/bq]
These three are a mixed bag to me…
-Tirek was easily one of the most badass villains, a great nod to G1, especially since I watched it… didn’t really like he stole all equestrian magic… just to blast trees?? would’ve been so chilling if he turned ponies into nightmares, dragons or demons… but hey, he’s got one of the most striking animations of the whole show (his battle with twilight)! so i’m not complaining.
-Chrysalis is hands up, along with Nightmare Moon, one of my favourite villains in all G4! beautiful design, a memorable debut, the fact that she literally feeds on love and takes whatever form she wants? genius! I loved how she didn’t get redeemed, her ego was so big she would rather be alone starving than admitting she was wrong; great characterisation!
-Cozy Glow had a lot of potential; I love that she’s a tiny manipulative strategist, and I would’ve loved seeing her actively befriend the CMC, diamond and silver spoon only to be the final boss to their last crusade; imagine the character dynamics we would’ve gotten, and what if the entire group of foals actually unleashed the actual Grogar? another thing that would’ve made sense is that Cozy could’ve been more likely manipulated by Chrysalis and Tirek, not the other way around, either way in my opinion, she clearly deserved redemption more than any other villain just for being a literal foal! good character conceptually overall, but didn’t live up to my expectations.[/bq]
