Description

Blue skies, grassy fields, and a sharp nip at her teats. Gilda sighed in bliss as she lifted her leg, allowing one of her newly hatched children to nurse. One female, and one male. One gentle, the other adventurous.

“And their both my own…hmm.”

“I phink you mean ourph…” came a muffled reply.

Gilda jolted from the reply, and the sudden entry of someone on her cliff ledge, and she turned defensively to see her husband, his voice muffled by a tasty looking fish that was clamped in his teeth.

“Don’t worrffy, if juth me.” She relaxed as he flapped his wings and settled them by his sides, before trotting over and nestling down next to her.

“I caught some trout, your favorite.” She purred and leaned back against his side.

“I missed you, did they give you trouble?” He blinked, first looking at the children, then at the fish.

“I…um, no?” She chirped, a light little laugh, and pulled him in for a light peck on his cheek.

“Good, I’d hate to tell the other griffons my husband was weak.” He scoffed, pulling his head to its fullest hieght,

“I’ll have you know I was the in the top seven fliers of my class, no lousy trout will stop me—OOOMPH!”

Said sentence was cut short by a flying tackle from his newest son.

Gilda chuckled, and watched him wrestle with the little one, She was happy, she was a mother…

She was home.
